Lets all chip in and help this fellow out. Here is the email I received earlier this week:

Yeah I know you’ve never heard that before. I’m sure Gordon is already out since I didn’t mention death in the subject line.

I’ll try to keep this short as I know you get 1,000,000 email a day. I’ve been a long time (10+ years) listener but never really emailed or talked to any of you before with the exception of the occasional “hey” last Hockey season when Bob’s seats were near mine.

I’m running the 2010 Boston Marathon this year and I’m raising money to support the Michael Carter Linsow Respite Center as they “sponsored” my application to run. The Respite Center is an incredible facility that helps families with children (and adults) with disabilities. Their services range from simply providing a safe place for the kids while mom/dad can run some errands to full blown live in education programs. Further they actually employ many of their “graduates”. The marathon represents one of the main sources of scholarships to help families who can’t afford their services.

I had the great fortune to meet all of their staff (and many residents) last year when I ran as part of Team EMC, but this year I’m running directly for the Respite Center. This is only my second Marathon and it certainly helps during all the training to know that you are running for such a purpose.

Anyway I was hoping you could help get the word out a bit to my fellow P1’s. If you happen to go to my fundraising site you will see I’m already half way to my goal. Now I’m certainly not asking for an on-air mention or a text blast (although that would be awesome), I was just hoping you could mention it in your blogs or respective show sites.

I know this is a lot to ask, and I honestly don’t think you should feel any obligation to do this…but I figured it was worth a shot. Beside I doubt seriously that Mike made it this far in the email. Maybe I should have mention the Rangers in there somewhere.

Ok before I challenge Bob for longest question of the week…The main thing to mention would be to ask P1’s who could donate any small amount (maybe a $1 per mile ($26.20)) at my site http://www.firstgiving.com/bklotzman that I would be extremely grateful and so would the good folks at the Respite Center.
