I was listening to your past shows about how Dallas only has 3 real weapons on offense and if they are off the floor, they do not have any scorers. They do have a weak bench compared to those Mavericks of the past. I was lookling at past rosters and notice that if Dirk was hurt, they had enough offense to carry the load. They had 4 to 5 players at one time averaging 10 or more points. Here is scenerio: We trade a second rounder next year, or Bass, etc. for Stephan Marbury. He can be our Van Excel of old. Nobody wants to take him, we should take him. Then we make a blockbuster trade; Kidd and Terry for Arenas Gilbert. He can be our sidekick scoring for Dirk when he returns from injury. That gives us a 20 plus score, with Howard and Dirk. Our new 3 headed monster, plus Marbury coming off the bench to score double digits.
I think we need to add pieces to Dirk, like Boston did with Garnett with 2 other 20 plus scorers. Look at Lakers a few years ago with just Kobe. They were like the Mavericks, hanging around the 7.8.9 slots. And with a few trades here and there, they are back in it.
What do you think? What would be other possible trades you like?
