It's truly the "land time forgot". For 5 days you're so far out in the middle of nowhere that no cell phone signal is possible. Four of the islands are inhabited and on 2 of them you have internet access. Only about 22,000 people live on the Galapagos. I found it to be a remarkable place almost totally untouched from the way it was hundreds of thousands of years ago. Each day on the journey we got to walk on 2 different islands and snorkel and dive in unbelievably clear water seeing sharks, angel fish, parrot fish, huge star fish and dozens of other under water creatures. Iguana, sea lions, brown pelicans, blue and red-footed boobies are everywhere. If you truly want to get away from it all and love nature, this is a terrific place.
