2018-19 recap: A mid-season trade from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers didn’t hinder Marjanovic from setting personal bests during his fourth NBA season. He averaged a career-high 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 58 games. His production improved in 22 outings with the 76ers as he averaged 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds a game, and Philadelphia fell one bouncing 3-pointer from Kawhi Leonard in Game 7 from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.
2019-20 outlook: Marjanovic’s professional career has taken him throughout the league — and the world. He played for several international teams from 2006 to 2015 and suited up for four NBA teams — the Spurs, Pistons, Clippers and 76ers — before joining Dallas. Perhaps he can carve out a consistent role with the Mavericks. Marjanovic likely won’t become a frequent contributor in the team’s rotation, but his production could reflect the role Salah Mejri has held: adding depth and assurance as a reserve in the frontcourt.
Did you know?: Marjanovic has a budding acting career. He appeared in John Wick 3, which starred Keanu Reeves, in 2019 and made a cameo in “We Will Be the World Champions,” a Serbian sports drama, in 2015.
