Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill continuing his dramatic re-make of the franchise. The latest move is a 7 player trade that brings former number two overall pick Tyler Seguin (pronounced SAY-gihn) to Dallas.
The 21-year-old Seguin putting up 16 goals and 32 points in the lockout-shortened season. In 2011-12 Seguin had 29 goals and 67 points. He's been playing out of position as a wing in Boston and likely will move to center in Dallas. That also should allow Jamie Benn to move back to his more natural spot of wing.
Also in the trade the Stars qcquire 30-year-old Center Rich Peverley and 22-year-old defenseman Ryan Button.
Going to Boston are wingers Loui Eriksson, Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser, and defenseman Joe Morrow. Eriksson has quietly been a big scorer for teh Stars, putting up three straight 70 point seasons before this year's lockout shortened campaign.
In just two months on the job, Nill has hired coach Lindy Ruff, acquired veteran defenseman Sergei Gonchar, drafted 18-year-old Russian winger Valeri Nichushkin, and now this 7 player trade.
