Norm & Donovan Show Summary 8/3/17

Thursday morning, Norm and Donovan discussed the latest regarding the Rangers. Last night, the Rangers upended the Mariners 5-1, after trading Yu Darvish to the Dodgers. The conversation slowly evolved into the rarity of two-sport players. Notable two-sport stars such as Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson are the two most famous of the small group, but Norm and Donovan pointed out some of the others. Jim Thorpe, Kenny Lofton, Danny Ainge, and Jim Brown all played two sports at points in their careers. At 11:15, the two played a recorded interview of theirs with Cowboys defensive back Anthony Brown. Brown has a heavy load this coming season due to the youth in the Cowboys secondary. Alongside veterans Nolan Carroll and Orlando Scandrick as well as rookies Chidobie Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis, Brown suddenly is in a position of leadership this coming year with the Cowboys. They concluded the show discussing the stunning trend of baseball teams with the best record in baseball not winning or even reaching the world series. In the last 30 years, the team with the best regular season records won the world series just six times, and seventeen of them didn’t even reach the title series.
