The Chicago Blackhawks placed defenseman Bowen Byram on injured reserve on Tuesday, retroactive to Oct. 15.
Byram, 25, has not played since Oct. 13 due to an upper-body injury. He has one assist in six games in his first season with Chicago.
The Blackhawks acquired Byram and forward Jordan Greenway from the Buffalo Sabres on June 23 in exchange for defenseman Louis Crevier and the Nos. 4 and 45 picks in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Byram scored a career-high 42 points (11 goals, 31 assists) and blocked 93 shots in 82 regular-season games for Buffalo in 2025-26.
Drafted No. 4 overall by Colorado in 2019, he has 44 goals and 109 assists in 334 regular-season games with the Avalanche (2020-24), Sabres (2024-26) and Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks recalled forward Dillon Boucher, 29, from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.
