Pierzynski to the DL

A strained and bruised right oblique muscle has gotten the best of A.J. Pierzynski. For only the second time in his career Pierzynski is on the DL. The injury has kept the Rangers primary catcher out of 4 of the last 9 games. He'll be eligible to return May 21st. Geovany Soto will be the primary catcher for the time being. Robinson Chirinos has been re-called from the minors to serve as the back-up.
