The Rangers miracle finish to the season allows them to live for another day. After winning only five games in the first 22 days of September Texas wins seven in the last seven days, completing a four-game sweep of the Angels with a 6-2 win at the Ballpark. Yu Darivsh falters again and leaves in the sixth, but the bullpen finishes off the final 3.1 innings. Geovanny Soto the go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the sixth and he tacks on a homer for good measure in the 9th.
The Rays hang on to beat the Blue Jays 7-6, forcing a tie with Texas at 91-71. So Tampa is at the Ballpark at 7:07 tonight for a play-in game to determine the final wild card team.
