The news broke last night that Rangers assistant GM, A.J. Preller agreed to take the GM position with teh San Diego Padres. The 36 year old at one point ran Texas' international scouting program, and has recently been overseeing the club's scouting and player development. Preller was the college roommate of current Rangers GM, Jon Daniels.
Some were concerned that Preller would take some Rangers front officer personnel or scouts with him, but that will be limited accoring to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
