Reports: Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk to coach Southern

Southern University has found its next head football coach, hiring Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk, according to multiple reports on Wednesday.An official announcement from Southern is expected on Monday.Faulk, 52, departs Colorado, where he was running backs coach for one season.In February, Faulk joined Deion Sanders’ staff in Boulder, giving the Buffaloes three members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame on its coaching staff (along with Sanders and Warren Sapp).Charged with improving a rushing attack that averaged a mere 65.1 yards per game, ranking 134th in the nation, Faulk helped the Buffaloes improve to 123.3 yards per game in 2025, tying for 107th in the country.
