Cumulus Dallas is on the lookout for an exceptional Local Sales Manager to drive media sales on Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket and i93 KLIF-FM Today’s Hit Music.  We provide our teams with a great product to sell, superior training tools, and a sales management system that aggressively focuses on new business development and rewards above average performance. In return, we require a polished leader that possesses the necessary drive, skills and experience to achieve success.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibility:

  • Co-manage a team of 14 diversified account executives to penetrate vital business categories using our proven steps of sales, along with sponsorship, event, digital and mobile assets. 
  • Local Sales Manager must lead the process of implementing our resources and build a culture based on new business development.  This requires a deep appreciation for systems, performance monitoring/measurement, training/coaching, and a results-oriented leadership approach. 
  • Upon demonstrating an understanding of the media sales business you will be encouraged to identify high-performance sales talent and contribute to on-going recruitment efforts.

 Ideal Background:

  • Sales management experience or a senior sales leader with a strong business development track record and experience in radio. 
  • Experience should be heavily grounded in out-bound sales activity.  Demonstrated “account management” skills will be secondary to demonstrated expertise in new business development.
  • Ability to cultivate lasting customer relationships with mutual residual benefit.
  • Other attributes should include attention to detail, an understanding of event activation and sponsorship sales, a strong work ethic and comfortable with compensation tied to performance.

 

 

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of steady progression as a leader in Radio and/or Media sales:
  • Responsible for strategic account planning and basic understanding of financial statements.
  • Experience managing an outside sales force in an organization which has a highly structured training program & focused goal-orientation
  • Strong understanding of prospecting strategies and C level sales.
  • A recognized top-performer, high-energy with strong goal-orientation and ability to coach/mentor.
