The Texas Rangers placed catcher Kyle Higashioka on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a mild left intercostal strain.The move is retroactive to Wednesday, one day after Higashioka sustained the rib injury while running out a three-run double in the eighth inning of the Rangers’ 15-2 victory over the Athletics.Higashioka, 35, is batting .254 with one homer and eight RBIs in 17 games in his first season with Texas. He signed a two-year deal in free agency in December.Higashioka is a career .214 hitter with 58 homers and 174 RBIs in 415 games with the New York Yankees (2017-23), San Diego Padres (2024) and Rangers.
