QB Kaidon Salter’s big game lifts Colorado past Wyoming

Kaidon Salter threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night and Colorado’s offense got going after a slow start to subdue visiting Wyoming 37-20 in Boulder.Salter, a Liberty transfer who started the season’s first two games but didn’t play last week in a defeat at Houston, completed 18 of 28 passes for the Buffaloes (2-2). He added 86 yards rushing, including a 35-yard score with 1:46 left in the game, as Colorado finished with 497 total yards.Kaden Anderson hit just 11 of 25 passes for 176 yards with two touchdowns for the Cowboys (2-2), who continued to struggle offensively. They have scored only 67 points, 31 of them two weeks ago at home against FCS opponent Northern Iowa.After a scoreless first quarter, the Buffs exploded for 21 second-quarter points to acquire the working margin they lived off in the second half. Salter started the scoring at the 14:12 mark, connecting with Omarion Miller on a 29-yard touchdown pass.After Erik Sandvik got Wyoming on the board with a 28-yard field goal with 9:39 left in the half, Salter found Sincere Brown for a 68-yard strike and a 14-3 lead. Simeon Price capped the next drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.Salter kept the onslaught going to start the second half, hitting Joseph Williams for a 47-yard score just 1:05 into the third quarter.
