Rangers fire offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker

The Texas Rangers announced Sunday they fired offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker after three-plus seasons in the role.No other coaching changes were announced.The Rangers are off to a 17-18 start this season (fourth in the AL West), just two seasons removed from a World Series championship.Texas’ offense has been anemic so far in 2025, managing an AL-worst 113 runs scored in 35 games. Just one team in MLB has scored fewer, the 6-28 Colorado Rockies with 106.”After lengthy discussions and deliberations, we feel now is the appropriate time to provide our hitters with a new voice as we pursue goals of winning the division and reaching the postseason,” Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said. “We are extremely grateful to Donnie for all that he has accomplished here with the Rangers, including his role in the club’s 2023 World Series championship. We wish him the best.”
