Rangers place All-Star SS Corey Seager (hamstring) on 10-day IL

The Texas Rangers placed All-Star shortstop Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday due to a right hamstring strain.The move was retroactive to Sunday. In a corresponding move, the Rangers activated catcher Kyle Higashioka (mild left intercostal strain) from the 10-day IL.Seager, 31, has missed four of the team’s last five games since May 8. He last played Saturday, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs in 10-3 road win against the Detroit Tigers.The Rangers used Josh Smith to play shortstop on Thursday and Friday, and Ezequiel Duran on Sunday and Monday.Seager is batting .300 with six home runs, 12 RBIs, a .346 on-base percentage and a .520 slugging percentage in 26 games this season.
